Crantock

With the sun out in the morning and temperatures topping 16 degrees, we just had to take advantage of swell hitting the North Coast. Claire mooched around Newquay, chatting up locals while I paddled out into some tasty surf. Being too scared to catch much, I did manage my first ever free-fall (back onto the board) while paddling OUT and over a monster. The winter storms have completely remodelled the beach: The river now runs sideways South in a huge loop, generating new rips to negotiate. After a pic nic in the dunes and a walk along a super low tide, we returned to base to watch England win the rugby against Wales.
