Plymouth

We wandered up to Penryn station and set off on a day-adventure to Plymouth. After a tea stop and spotting a few sale bargains we discovered the amazing and very reasonable Greedy Goose Restaurant where we managed all three courses for lunch. Then we perused The Barbican where the yachts racing the TransAt were lined up. The Mayflower set sail from here as did the first settlers of (white) New Zealand on 'The Troy'. Then we walked The Hoe where Drake (possibly) played bowls.

Sunny Day

After respective mornings playing tennis/sorting the halyards on the J24 mast, we enjoyed an afternoon respectively planting spring bedding/levelling and cementing patio slabs in the warm sunshine. In the evening we rowed/coxed/stopped for chips/took pictures of a J Class yacht. A good day.

What A Weekend

Tim and Sharon came for the weekend, bringing lovely sunshine with them that we made the most of. After a morning at Mylor Harbour we headed to The Lizard and Kynance Cove for some sketching, stretching and Chough spotting. After icecreams, we happily arrived in Porthleven during the Music and Food Festival, where we mingled with the crowds and ate fish and chips overlooking the harbour. Finally we headed to the North Coast to watch a golden sunset behind Godrevy Lighthouse - magical. To cap off Saturday, we did a bit of seal spotting too.
Sunday started chilly but the sun soon warmed us up as we lounged around on Ghylly Beach, with a couple of SUP sorties to justify all the snacks we consumed. April suncream was required! We eventually dragged ourselves away home for a quick cream tea before our lovely guests bid us farewell and headed upcountry. What a weekend!

H4H Valiant Launch

Flushing and Mylor Pilot Gig Club joined Falmouth and Devoran to salute the launch of gig 'Valiant' built by and for injured servicemen. The BBC were there too and a good crowd of wellwishers on land and in a flotilla. Video.

Wedding Weekend

Josh and Bethan's wedding gave us the perfect excuse to have an extended stay in Cheltenham. We were involved in the pre-wedding and post-wedding excitement. The big day went beautifully and was enjoyed by all.
We wore our best togs and made the most of time with friends over great food and a nicely relaxed reception.
The rest of the time, we met up with friends, started looking at plans for the bungalow and 'interviewed' some builders. Both journeys past Taunton, allowed time to spend with Grandma FT:
