Holywell to Perranporth

In crisp sunshine we walked the coast from Cubert to Perranporth, stopping to watch a seal, birds, waves and the lovely vistas at Holywell Bay and around into Penhale Sands.
We recharged our bodies at Christies Tea Shop at Perranporth before the walk back.

Imogen Blows Through

With Storm Imogen battering the South West, I accompanied Matt who bravely sought out some shelter from the massive waves for a surf. We started at Poltesco but after paddling out, Matt was soon having to self-rescue having been swept North. I watched from the cliffs. After a safe but rocky exit we moved on to Coverack which held only a tiny wave. So we abandoned surfing and ate lunch watching the gannets putting on a magnificent display, diving in the bay.

Loe Bar

With a mini break from the incessant precipitation, we walked the West side of The Lizard from Loe Bar to Porthleven. The waves breaking on the bar sounded like someone having a very relaxed snore as we approached in bright sunlight from the Helston direction. The long beach was deserted, with a solitary fishing boat just offshore. We walked in to Porthleven for pasties and tea harbourside. We were too hot, even in just shirts (while the North of the Country folks battled snow and minus 10 degrees)!
